WIN MORE THAN $20 000 IN CASH AND PRIZES!

Wallace Bishop Jewellers, in association with Stuart Bishop Racing, Willowbank Raceway and Castrol are giving you the chance to win some fantastic prizes and see your work on display in a public art exhibition in the Wallace Bishop Jewellers Photographic Competition. 

To enter, simply capture the essence of Australian drag racing through submitted images.

Works will be judged on:

1. their ability to communicate the spirit and excitement of drag racing
2. the visual impact of the image
3. overall technical excellence
4. creativity and originality

Prizes will be awarded in two distinct subject areas:

  1. Stuart Bishop and his Diamond Doorslammer
  2. All Australian drag racing categories

Each entrant will be allowed a maximum of five entries

There are great prizes to be won in the categories of:

  1. Amateur
  2. Professional – any photographer who has gained financially from the sale of their images is deemed to be a professional as is any individual who has in the past been afforded media accreditation at any ANDRA sanctioned facility.

Prizes

  1. Each Amateur winner will receive:

A $1000 cash prize courtesy of Willowbank Raceway

A $2000 cash prize courtesy of Castrol

  1. GRAND PRIZE

The overall winning entry selected from all winners of each category will be awarded a half carat 50-point diamond. This is the identical diamond to the one encased in the roof of Stuart Bishop’s Diamond Doorslammer, which is situated somewhere among the configuration of 540 cubic zirconia.   

The competition will incorporate images from the recent Castrol EDGE Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway which were held on June 5-8, 2008 through to Queensland’s Tin Top Titles, Willowbank Raceway, on April 17-18, 2009.

A panel of judges has been selected to adjudicate on the contributed images and their decision will be final.

Five finalistswill be selected to be involved in a public exhibition. Details regarding the exhibition and the event to award the winners will be announced soon.

CONDITONS OF ENTRY

1. Entries are limited to 5 images per entrant.

2. Photos submitted should be of publishable quality (1800 x 1200 pixels) in a jpeg format and no larger than 500kb in file size.
(** Please keep original larger file images as they will be required if selected to appear in the exhibition) 

3. Images submitted must be taken no earlier than the 2008 Castrol EDGE Winternationals event (June 5-8, 2008) and no later than the Tin Top Titles, April 18,2009 to be eligible. Photos taken outside of this time frame will not be accepted under any circumstances.

4. Entries will not be received any later than close of business Friday April 24, 2009.

5. Organisers reserve the right to reject any image, if the image is not, in their opinion, of sufficient merit or is likely to cause offence or distress to any member of the community. The entrant will be informed of this decision and invited to resubmit another suitable image for inclusion.

6. The printed images remain the property of BAM Media and may be auctioned/sold for charity fundraising, but not for corporate gain.

7. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

8. Entrants shall allow their work to be reproduced for publicity purposes and waive any copyright claims in this instance. Appropriate credits will be attributed with all used images.

9. Upon entry of each image, entrants declare that the particular work is their own original piece and taken in the designated time frame. Those found to have submitted work not of their own or from outside the time frame will be refused participation in the current and future competitions.

There will be Amateur and Professional category winners selected in the subject areas of Stuart Bishop and his Diamond Doorslammer plus all Australian drag racing categories. Prior to the final judging, five finalists from each of the categories will have been short-listed for the exhibition. (20 works in total)
